We will send you an unedited 30-page transcript on a day and time of your choosing, and you will have 1 hour to return it with your edits. We will then check your edits compared to our own and you will receive a pass or fail score. This system allows us to verify that you are a real legal proofreader who understands the job and is doing this work yourself as opposed to outsourcing it overseas. Our aim with this system is to protect the integrity of the legal proofreading professional and to help protect court reporters from potential scams. We also cannot guarantee that you will or will not receive new work through our service. As you are not an agent of Deadline, your work belong to you. I still maintain my licenses in Illinois, Tennessee, and am a full member of NCRA. My colleagues would not let me retire and insisted, strong-armed, threatened, and bribed me to proofread and scope for them. I now spend a lot of my time RealTeaming. I have worked a lot with the federal officials on their trials. I do prefer working with one other scopist or alone depending on the experience of the reporter.
