While there are so many people online claiming to be scopists, our mission is to connect active court reporters with legitimate U.S.A.-based scopists who are either just starting out, or are looking for one or two new clients. As you look through our directory, you will see that some scopists have a "Verified" tag on their profile. This is our in-house process to help confirm that a scopist is legitimate. To become verified, we have our scopists provide the name of a court reporter who has worked with them previously and can attest to their work quality. Once we have made contact with the reporter, we add the "Verified" tag to the profile. This system does not guarantee that every scopist in our directory is of the highest-quality, and it does not mean that anyone missing the Verified tag is not legitimate. If a scopist is fairly new, they may not have a licensed CR who can attest for them, or they may be cautious about providing the name of their client. For this reason, we encourage every reporter who visits our directory to explore a scopist's profile, visit their website or Facebook, and have a few good questions ready to ask the scopist.
