Although we allow any legal proofreader to join our directory and create a profile, we do have an independent process available to help vet the proofreaders who join. You will see that some profiles come with a red "Verified" tag, and this means we have sent a sample transcript to this proofreader, with a time limit, and verified the edits they found. This process ensures the proofreader understands what to look for, how to add their corrections/suggestions to the document correctly, and could return the annotated transcript within a reasonable time frame.

Additionally, our process makes it nearly impossible for a pretend-proofreader to outsource their transcript to a third party and helps ensure they personally completed the assignment and in a satisfactory way.
